Week ending 28th May
BAL, UNI, UMA and xSushi Call Options ExpireFollowing the launch of UMA Call options on UMA in earlier in the year, UMA’s suite of call options products was expanded to include BAL, UNI, UMA and xSushi, with an expiry date of 31st May. These options expire optimistically using our updated Optimistic Oracle, which recommends a price to the DVM which can then be disputed if there is any disagreement over the proposed price. The recent market downturn has left the options expiring above the market price. New call options for June are now in the making and will be available soon, in anticipation of a market uptick and future growth.
UMA on UnblockedThis week, Clayton Roache, community lead at UMA appeared as a guest the UnBlocked explaining what made UMA unique compared with other synthetic asset and oracle platforms, and how the Optimistic Oracle worked and had a deep dive into what KPI options are, how they work and why they are a powerful tool for crypto protocols to motivate their community members to allow them to help them achieve the ambitions of the protocol.
SuperUMAn UpdateThis week’s TVL Blog was brought to you by SuperUMAns ProjectEqual and AngryDeer, two finance professionals who have developed a growing interest in Defi and UMA. In addition to a proposal made on C.R.E.A.M and approaches to Universities for real world KPI Options, a community member has also created UMA swag for the SuperUMAns, with tops, t-shirt, hoodies galore — coming soon, watch this space.
UMA listed on DFI PulseFollowing many requests, UMA is now listed on DFI Pulse, with the fourth highest TVL of derivatives protocols. Additionally Clayton Roache, Community Lead, had a fireside chat with DFI Pulse, as part of their long running series featuring different prominent crypto protocols — highlighting the need for crypto to explore real world integrations and how communities can be built by identifying and acknowledging when community members create value.
And finally….UMA at Hack Money June 2021After the success of UMA at the EthGlobal hackathon in February which saw seven teams build on the UMA protocol, including three which have gone on to create full products, UMA has decided to sponsor the latest Hack Money Hackathon in June.
