What’s new in the latest release 3.7.0?
Get a complete overview across your wallets
Before Christmas, we promised you we would kick-start a new year in a big way. And here it is :) We are excited to announce that we’ve just released a new version of Spendee with All Wallets Overview, the most requested feature of last year.
All Wallets Overview enables you to get a bird’s eye view of your income and expenses across your wallets all in one place thus making money management much easier.
Where do I find All Wallets Overview?
On Android, you will find this new section on a top of the sidebar and on iOS you will access it from top of your home screen. However, if you have more wallets, you won’t be able to see this section right after you install the latest version. It will be necessary to make small adjustments on your side first, in order for us to activate it.
How to activate All Wallets Overview?
When the latest version (3.7.0) is available on App Store or Play Store, update Spendee. We will then automatically set a main currency for your account, which will be also a currency of All Wallets Overview. If you wish to change it, please go to: Settings -> Account currency. It can be done in 2 clicks.
Then, you will be notified to merge categories. You can do it right away or later, however, we recommend to do it immediately, as that will unlock All Wallets Overview for you. Merge of categories also has a side effect of creating a single set of categories, that will be shared across all your wallets.
To activate All Wallets Overview, merge your categories first.
Merging categories
As you know, until now, each wallet has its own category set. Many of you probably experienced that you created a category in one wallet and wanted to use it also in another wallet, which was not possible. However, thanks to the merge, every user will have one set of categories across all wallets.
To make sure that categories are merged correctly and the way you want it, you can choose to do the merge by yourself. If you don’t want to merge your categories manually, you will need to wait 2–3 weeks from the installation and then we do it automatically for you based on following criteria:
- Spendee merges all categories with same name and same icon (color doesn’t matter) for you
- The merge of the remaining categories will be up to you
Merge your categories from different wallets into one category set.
To merge, edit, deactivate, change the order or create new categories, go to: Setting -> All categories or each wallet settings. What is also important to mention is that deactivation and re-ordering of the category will be done on wallet level while editing, changing color and creating will be done on All Wallets level.
Shared Wallets
How will be shared wallets affected by this change? The most important thing is that in order for All Wallets Overview to work properly for shared wallet members, all members have to have the same version of Spendee. Then shared wallet transactions will be included in All Wallets Overview of all members. Editing of the shared wallet (inviting other members, changing the name of the wallet or initial balance) can still be done only by the owner.
What will come next?
In this release, it will not be possible to choose a time period of All Wallets Overview. There will be a default period set for a current month. However, in a next release, we will add this functionality. On top of that with the upcoming release, every user will have a possibility to select which wallets should be included in All Wallets Overview.
Connect your bank account
There has never been a better time to connect all your bank accounts and finally see all your cash transactions as well as your bank accounts transactions in one place. You can also connect your PayPal account or your Coinbase crypto-wallet and get all your financial transactions into Spendee. You will find the guide on Connecting bank account here.
Happy Spendeeing!
