What is an SDK?
A System Development Kit (SDK) is a set of downloadable tools that allow developers to interact with a system. SDKs are written for specific platforms and are generally available in multiple programming languages. These tools provide a framework and pre-built functionality to access the services of a system. SDKs allow rapid development for businesses so they can focus on creating their custom applications using those tools instead of having to build it from scratch.
What is Included in an SDK?
A typical SDK includes libraries, modules, sample code, test cases, and relevant documentation describing how to interact with a system. This allows developers to quickly setup the environment and use the provided structure to build custom applications.
At Poloniex we have introduced SDKs that provide a ready to use set of tools to connect to both our REST and Websockets interfaces for trading. In the first phase, we have SDKs for Python and Java, which are available here. Stay tuned for support of other languages.
