The Russian embassy in Paris confirms crypto businessman Vyacheslav Taran’s death in a mystery helicopter crash. Taran, 53, founded Forex Club and Libertex.
The secluded French Riviera resort town of Villefranche-sur-Mer has been confirmed as the scene of the fatal accident.
There are rumours that Taran had connections to Moscow’s foreign intelligence while he was operating out of Monaco. He took off from Lausanne, Switzerland, in a Monacair H130 helicopter handled by an experienced pilot. The 30-year-old pilot was reportedly killed in the disaster.
A Libertex statement read as follows:
“It is with great sadness that Libertex Group confirms the death of its co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Vyacheslav Taran, after a helicopter crash that took place en route to Monaco on Friday, 25 November 2022. The Board of Directors of Libertex Group and company employees extend their most heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the Taran family.”
Taran had planned to take another passenger aboard the VIP chopper with him, but the passenger changed his mind at the last minute.
Kyiv’s UNIAN news agency claimed that he was “laundering Russian funds through a system of cryptocurrency operations” and that this was connected to “The Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation,” also known as “SVR Foreign Espionage Agency.” The report by UNIAN was devoid of any supporting evidence.
Crypto Entrepreneurs Passing Away
In addition to Vyacheslav Taran, there have been other deaths in the crypto sector. There have been two additional crypto supporters who have passed away in recent weeks. On November 23, Tiantian Kullander, 30, died “in his sleep” last week. Kullander was a co-founder of the Hong Kong-based crypto currency company Amber Group.
Nikolai Mushegian, a 29-year-old self-made millionaire, perished while vacationing in Puerto Rico. Nikolai Mushegian’s death also aroused questions, as he died barely a few hours after his post. The tweet indicated that he knew that the CIA and Mossad, both America’s and Israel’s national spy services, were planning to assassinate him.
