AWS Mining Exposed for Attempted Photoshop
AWS Mining was recently outed by watchdog website BehindMLM for being a clear Ponzi scheme. Levying the evidence against the corporation based on the lack of tangible products or services and the clear referral-reliant, unsustainable payout structure, the watchdog clearly outlined how AWS Mining is nothing more than a cryptocurrency and mining spin on the age-old pyramid or Ponzi scheme. The company had already racked up complaints from all over the world, and the BehindMLM piece only helped to cement the reputation of a Ponzi scheme for the massive scam.
But now, BehindMLM has exposed the company yet again. This time leveraging more comedy than straight attack, the writers behind the site published an article mocking what they call the AWS Mining “photoshop fail.” Only two days after they had published their own review and concluded that the company is nothing more than a typical Ponzi scheme, BehindMLM found evidence that the company deliberately tried to fake presence at the World Digital Mining Summit, which started on the 21st of this month.
In an attempt to seem more credible to their investors, many of whom have likely been hit with the news that their investment might be a Ponzi scheme, the company posted a photo on their Facebook account of their Chief Operating Officer (COO) attending the event, which was rumored to be the biggest blockchain event of the year.
A Photoshop Fail
According to BehindMLM, the Facebook photo is a “hilarious Photoshop fail,” as well as a clear example that the company is not around to stay indefinitely. The first piece of evidence that something is amiss comes from the “AWS Mining” logo on the sign above the COO’s right shoulder. BehindMLM zoomed in on the sign and revealed that it is very clearly photoshopped, cropped badly using the computer program in a desperate attempt by the company’s executives to appear more legitimate.
The blurriness behind the COO’s hand and arm is another reason that BehindMLM concluded that this attempt is a clear Photoshop fail. As the creators of the faux image attempted to merge a picture of the smug executive with the background at the Summit, they left blurriness as an accidental signal that the image had been, at some point, altered.
An Embarrassing Error
To make matters worse for the Ponzi scheme company, BehindMLM actually found the original picture that was edited to make the background for the AWS Mining Facebook picture. It did have a similar structure to the photo, but it had no logo for AWS Mining displayed anywhere on the wall. Instead, it had another company in its place.
As BehindMLM pointed out, the funniest part about this situation was that the COO could have absolutely attended the Summit, which was generally open to anyone within the industry. But instead, the company took the route of creating a fake image with their logo on it, photoshopping their executive of choice onto its foreground, and then trying to stir up fake credibility on social media with the Photoshop fail.
