Google Ends Crypto Ban on Advertising
Google is ending its ban on crypto advertising, something that Facebook has already done. Now, companies from the United States and Japan will be able to buy crypto ads in the United States and Japan. Originally, Google restricted the purchase of ads in March due to the high amount of scams that were happening.
The ban was initially created to protect the customers from the brand. It included Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), wallets, trading services and crypto investments in general. Now, only the crypto exchange will be able to purchase ads while the other ones are still blocked from doing it.
Most Companies Banned Cryptos
While the crypto revolution brought a lot of wealth to people, it has also brought a lot of scams that made people lose a lot of money. Because of this, the giants of the media, Facebook and Google, Twitter, Snapchat and others, had all cracked down on crypto-related ads. However, as the market developed, they decided to change this stance.
According to Google’s Scott Spencer, they do not have a way to predict the future and whether these assets will harm people or not, so they have to be very cautious with this issue.
While the policies of the company were updates all over the world, you can only buy ads from the U. S. and Japan at the moment. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, makes about 86% of its revenues from ads and booked over $54 billion USD in the first half of 2018.
