Crypto Featured In Wreck-It-Ralph 2: A Hollywood Blockbuster
Crypto continues to infiltrate our everyday lives with its latest inclusion in Hollywood blockbusters. The crypto community has scored a first with the inclusion of SAFE Network into the latest blockbuster to come from Hollywood: Wreck-It-Ralph 2—Ralph Breaks the Internet. The cryptocurrency made a cameo in the animation movie released a few weeks ago.
The cameo was initially reported by posters that had been posted on various forums across the web, before an official cinema shot displaying the crypto logo was released a few days later. This is an official confirmation that the cryptocurrency was in fact featured in this new anime.
What Does This Mean For Crypto?
Does the appearance of the SAFE Logo in the movie mean that Hollywood actually loves cryptocurrencies? Before this latest development came into light, there are numerous crypto’s that had been showcased on the small screens, e.g., on television shows such as NCIS LA, The Good Wife, Supernatural, House of Cards, and The Simpsons.
These are some of the shows that had touched on the cryptocurrency subject from as far back as 2012. In recent times, however, cryptocurrencies have started to receive recognition even on the silver screens, which may be an indication that they have truly started to become an important part of popular culture.
This is clearly showcased by reports suggesting that the Coen Brothers have been busy at work developing a movie that will touch on the life of Ross Ulbricht, the former administrator of Silk Road. A report released by the Hollywood Reporter earlier this year noted that a movie going by the title “Crypto” is currently under production.
The movie which touches on the subject of money laundering has attracted top Hollywood talent with big names in the movie industry such as Beau Knapp, Alexis Bledel, and Kurt Russel being involved in it. Other superstars who have featured in the movie include Luke Hemsworth, Vincent Kartheiser, and Jeremie Harris. The movie is being directed by renowned silver screen instructor John Stalberg Jr.
Maidsafe posted the official reaction from SAFE on their forum and stated that they had been watching the latest developments with a lot of interest. The administrator went on to state that they were thankful to everyone who had reached out to them in the past few days to inform them of the SAFE cameo in the anime.
He went on to state that they were doing their best to try and gather more information on the cameo as it was not something that they had talked about with the production team behind the animation. According to him, the appearance could have resulted from some of the work that they have done in the past with the HBO series.
It is important to note that preceding this appearance, cryptocurrency had also been featured by Marvel Comics in one of its many productions which had been titled, Hunt. Soulja Boy—the rapper also featured cryptocurrency in one of his latest albums by releasing a track titled: Bitcoin.
