Gab to Start Accepting BTC
On Thursday the social network announced that incorporation of the Btcpay server was done and will now process BTC and LTC payments. The platform was launched as an alternative to Twitter and is popular with alt-right and libertarians that have been banned on Twitter. It has a little moderation policy because it dubs itself a network for free speech.
Gab provides free accounts and four levels of pro-membership. 3 months for $15, 6 months for $30, 1 year for $60 and 5 years for $200. The store is now using Btcpay for checkouts.
Literally NO ONE can no-platform our new crypto shop. No one.
Not banks. Not the media. Not activists. Not online mobs.

What is Btcpay?
Btcpay is a payment processor that allows users to receive payments through several cryptocurrencies. It will enable Bitcoin acceptance without the need for private key information. It means that merchants accepting Bitcoin can store it whichever way they please or convert it into a fiat currency if required. Using the app, merchants can receive direct payments, peer-to-peer crypto payments, KYC information.
Customers enjoy a user-friendly checkout page and also have an option to manage and generate reports. The software uses the same API format as that of Bitpay which allows users to migrate from Bitpay’s paid service to Btcpay easily. According to Github, Bitpay Server allows no fees, no transactions costs, and no middlemen. Security is assured because private keys are not and each invoice generates a new address.
Btcpay is different from its competitors because it advises its users to download the source code and host the software in their servers. It also provides a convenient way for clients to search for invoices based on whichever criteria they choose.
What is Gab?
Gab is a social network that is similar to Twitter. Users can send gabs of up to 300 characters and enjoy little and up to no moderation. It was founded by Andrew Torba in 2016 and was eventually launched in 2017. The platform advocated for free speech and was created entirely to counter left-leaning social platforms such as Twitter and Facebook.
Gab has become a haven for social media personalities that have been banned from other social networks. Some of its most famous users include conspiracy theorist Alex Jones Milo Yiannopoulos, Britain First and Richard Spencer. It has around 460,000 members.
Recently, Gab became the center of controversy on October 27 after Robert Bowers ended 11 lives at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Bowers is reportedly posted threatening messages on Gab towards the Jewish community and even announced his “going in” just before the shooting. Immediately after, several companies including Paypal, Medium, and Stripe disassociated themselves from Gab, and the platform stayed down for eight days before finding a new host. For now, gab is still recovering amid controversy.
