This Friday, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) flagged a firm pretending to represent a legitimate company called ALPH Capital on grounds of cryptocurrency scam.
Although a real company called ALPH Capital exists, it is a small investment firm with offices in Italy and the UK. While the recently flagged ALPH Capital which lists its address to be in the choice Mayfair neighborhood of West London apparently only listed that address for reasons which are as phony as its website which is written in French.
There aren’t any information available online as to the business or services of the phony ALPH Capital and this gives more credence to the FCA’s flagging of the company.
Although it’s difficult to say if the actions of the FCA will bring an end to the apparent fraudulent business of the phony ALPH Capital, it is saddening to admit that a lot of people who are driven by their need to get rich quickly will still fall for the scams of the phoney ALPH Capital or other similarly dubious companies.
