Let’s take a look at top projects that are set to make headway in the first quarter of 2019.
IOTA (MIOTA)
IOTA is an interesting project. Although it’s built on a blockchain, it features a technology known as the Tangle, which makes it superior. Its capabilities have attracted the attention of big names like Volkswagen, World Trade Organization, and Bosch.
IOTA And Volkswagen
Volkswagen announced its collaboration with IOTA on February 2018 and later cemented it on September 2018 when the two collectively announced that they are set to release a Digital CarPass in Q1 2019. This is a computer system utilizing IoT and blockchain technology to increase the performance of automobiles.
IOTA And The Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative (MOBI)
MOBI, a new consortium for the innovation of blockchain the mobility industry, welcomed IOTA together with other partners such as General Motors, Ford, and BMW. The success of the project will see IOTA become one of the biggest blockchain IoT providers for vehicle manufacturers.
VeChain (VET)
VeChain has big plans for 2019. According to the company, it expects to grow dApps and enterprise applications and enable them to support real businesses. In light of this, VeChain has partnered with several companies, releasing development updates through their mainnet.
VeChain And DNV GL Group
DNV GL, a Norway-based accredited registrar, joined hands with VeChain in January 2019 in a bid to improve supply chain efficiency, traceability, and transparency. The two are expected to work together in the retail, fashion, and food and beverage industries, and later expand their mission to the automotive and aerospace industries.
IoTex (IOTX)
Just as the name suggests, IoTex is a project built with a focus on Internet of Things and the blockchain technology. The project opened its doors in 2018, and the company dedicated the whole of that year to build their foundation. 2019 will be different, though, because it’s the year they will officially launch and kick off their operations. According to an announcement made in early 2019, the company disclosed a plan to launch its Mainnet Alpha, its Delegate Program, and an exchange listing.
Mainnet Alpha Launch
IoTex is expected to officially launch its mainnet alpha version in March 2019, and a beta version in Q3 2019. Recently, the company announced that Bittrex had listed their token, with rumors that UPbit listing will follow.
IoTex Delegates Program
This program is aimed at IoTex’s delegates for the success of the ecosystem. The delegates that form their community are required to have technical, operational know-how and a minimum stake of 1,200,000 IOTX tokens.
OriginTrail (TRAC)
OriginTrail, a project that aims to improve interoperability in the supply chain, has established several use cases and major partnerships that will help it increase the profitability and efficiency of all stages in the supply chain. One of the most significant collaborations it had in 2018 is Oracle, a company that managed to record a whopping $39.8 billion in revenue last year.
OriginTrail And BSI
In a bid to streamline its international adoption, OriginTrail recently joined hands with BSI (British Standard Institution). This will help them deliver blockchain-enabled solutions for supply chain, certification, and global assessment services.
Vostok Mainnet Launch
OriginTrail launched Vostock, their mainnet version, in December 2018, stating that they would proceed to launch the next stage in the first quarter of 2019, called the Freedom. This will allow any participant to join their network without filling an application.
