Exploring the opportunities in blockchain technology
By joining the group of validators, Ubisoft will be authenticating and adding transaction blocks to the network.
Bakers will also be distributing rewards earned when they validate transactions to wallets that have delegated their staked Tezos.
Ubisoft says the recent move to become a validator within the Tezos ecosystem is part of a broader goal to explore the opportunities that new technologies like blockchain are providing.
The company has now been added to an impressive list of 277 bakers already participating on the Tezos network.
Blockchain initiative director at Ubisoft, Nicolas Pouard, commented on the decision of the firm to become a validator on the Tezos network. Pouard stated,
Ā Ubisoft believes that blockchain has the potential to bring new possibilities to players and developers alike.
He added that the partnership will enable the company to pursue its innovation with the blockchain ecosystem that is revolutionizing technology. He also stated that the project is taking an environmentally friendly approach due to its proof-of-stake consensus algorithm.
Ubisoft hopes to entertain more partnerships in future
When it comes to transaction authentication, Ubisoft has partnered with another company in the past apart from Tezos. As reported last year, Ubisoft partnered with UOS Network in 2020 to become a block producer with the platform.
As developments keep springing up within gaming and blockchain technology, the company may deem it necessary to have more relationships with other companies in the future. The company says itās part of the goal to remain relevant and highly competitive in the industry.
Ubisoft is behind popular titles such as the Tom Clancy series, Prince of Persia, and Assassinās Creed.
