Stacks Improvement Proposal 12 has been adopted! Learn more about it means for STX users.
Since the launch of Stacks 2.0 in January of 2021, the Stacks ecosystem has expanded at an impressive pace, with the addition of NFTs, DeFi, MiamiCoin, and more.
At times, however, this growth and increased use have led to network congestion. In order to alleviate these issues and secure its future growth, the Stacks core developers have proposed an update to the protocol. This proposal is called Stacks Improvement Proposal 12 or SIP-012, and it has the potential to increase network capacity by 10 times.
All current Stackers and Miners had the ability to vote “Yes” or “No” on the proposal. In the past, we’ve seen some of our customers suffer from these capacity issues, and we believed that voting “Yes” will improve everyone’s experience with the Stacks ecosystem moving forward.
Specifically, the SIP-012 focuses on raising a few constraints:
- MARF
- Storage costs
- Function costs
Take a moment to learn about the proposal and thanks for being a part of the Okcoin and Stacks community!
