Latest news about Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies. Your daily crypto news habit.
For the past 2 years, we’ve tried to solve a problem we truly believe in: knowledge management for technical teams. We think this is an important problem but we didn’t succeed in finding product/market fit and building a sustainable business.
That’s what makes today a bittersweet day here at Memo. We’re sad to announce that the Memo service and company will be shutting down on March 16th 2018.
What this means for users
- As of today, we’ve stopped accepting new signups.
- Memo will remain available to all previously signed up teams, regardless of plan, for two more months, until March 16, 2018.
- You‘ll be able to export your data in both HTML and Markdown format. More details here
- Your data, including email addresses, authentication tokens, and any other information will remain confidential and will not be shared with any other company. Please export your public and private notes from Memo by March 16, 2018. After that, all Memo data will be destroyed, and you won’t be able to access it anymore.
- Active paying teams (monthly or yearly) will be completely refunded.
- We won’t be doing any further development work or adding new features to Memo. But, we will continue to provide technical or customer support to existing teams.
We are sorry for the inconvenience we’ve caused by shutting down. We understand that having to transition off Memo only adds more work to your busy schedule and we’re trying to make it as easy as possible to export your data.
To our users, especially the ones who paid for Memo, thank you for being with us over the past 2 years! We’d also like to thank our investors, advisors and friends who have supported us.
While we know this is a sad day, we’re super optimistic about what’s next. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at team@memo.ai.
Sincerely,Mircea & the Memo team
Other questions you may have
Are there alternatives to Memo I can use?
We think both Dropbox Paper and Evernote Business are great alternatives, from established companies that will probably be around for years to come.
If you’re looking for a tool that’s highly integrated with Slack, Tettra and Guru and great options! Also, Outline, Notion, NoteJoy, Slite, Input are also worth checking out.
What’s happening to the Memo team?
We’re happy to announce that most of the Memo engineering team will be joining Coinbase, one of the world’s most popular ways to buy and sell cryptocurrencies! Also, our design co-founder will be joining Dropbox and will continue to apply her Memo knowledge as part of the Dropbox Paper team.
We decided to join Coinbase because we’re super excited about the company’s mission of building an open financial system. If you are interested in learning more about Coinbase, please visit coinbase.com.
