Recently I’ve been testing the latest Claymore Dual ETH GPU miner and I’ve find some interesting info I’d want to share with you. I have tested it with most of the GPUs and rigs such as RX 470 4GB, RX 580 4GB / 8GB, GTX 1060 3GB / 6GB, GTX 1070, GTX 1080 Ti
The new version now supports two more algos, which are the Blake2s and KECCAK. It also features decreased developer fees (1.5 %) for dual mining and no fees when using GPUs with 2GB memory since they cannot mine ETH. If you own Tahiti, Tonga, Ellesmere, Baffin AMD GPUs, you might be interested in the new “-asm 2” option that now will support the mentioned GPUs. Other changes include Ethereum mining performance improvements for certain GPUs.
v11.0 new features:
- added new algorithm for dual mode: blake2s (stratum pools only), use “-dcoin blake2s” option.
- added new algorithm for dual mode: keccak (stratum pools only), use “-dcoin keccak” option.
- reduced devfee for dual mode, now it is 1.5%.
- for 2GB cards devfee is removed completely, i.e. on 2GB cards you can mine all ETH forks without devfee. Check Readme for details.
- added “-tstart” option.
- “-asm 2” option value now supports Tahiti, Tonga, Ellesmere, Baffin; in some cases it can be a bit faster in ETH-only mode.
- removed “-allcoins exp” option value.
- a few minor bug fixes and improvements.
Which Pools are the Best for Dual Mining?
Before I get into the hashrates, here is some data I’ve gathered regarding pools:
- nlpool – tested and reported by users as the best pool for blake2s
- Ethermine – Works fine, can be combined with NiceHash to dual mine ETH and Blake2s
- NiceHash – No issues
- Zpool – No issues, though payout is slightly less than in other pools
- Unimining – there are reviews of people having latency issues with the pool
- Antminepool – no issues, though apparently payout time is way longer than in other pools
Ethereum Dual Mining Verge (Blake2) Tutorial
Here is what you can expect when dual mining B2 and ETH with a RX 470 and RX 480, running them at 1150MHz core clock / 2150 mem cloclk:
-dcri 40 with no drop on ETH
RX 470 = 1200MH/s
RX 480 = 1350MH/s
-dcri 60 with ~0.5MH/s drop on ETH
RX 470 = 1400MH/s
RX 480 = 1600MH/s
On a rig consisting of a RX 480, 570 and a 580 mining in the antminerpool, you can expect ~180 – 187 MH/s on ETH and 7,200 – 9,300 Mh/s on B2S, provided dcri settings are 40 and 50, respectively for each card.
This setup has an increased power consumption of about 30W, which is an additional $2 USD of expenses per month, provided you pay around $ 0.10 USD/kW. This is less than when dual mining SIA, though thanks to the new ASICs, we probably will no longer be GPU mining SIA coin anyway.

How to Configure It
Here is what you do to dual mine on nlpool:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:14444 -ewal <ETH ADDRESS>.<RIG NAME> -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -dwal <XVG ADDRESS> -dpsw x -dcoin blake2s -allcoins 1 -allpools 1 -dcri 50
Note: you can try higher –dcri settings when dual mining ETH on Ethermine and XVG on nlpool. For instance, some RX 580 users prefer to go for –dcri 45 or even 50.Here is what you do to dual mine Ella and XSH on Nvidia:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -allpools 1 -epool pool.ellaism.io:8002 -ewal <ELLA WALLET ADDRESS> -dpool stratum+tcp://pool.bilbotel.fr:5766 -dwal <XSH WALLET ADDRESS> -dcoin blake2s -dpsw c=XSHB -allcoins 1 -allpools 1
Here is an example on how a full code looks like:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.ethermine.org:14444 -ewal <ETH ADDRESS>.<RIG NAME> -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://mine.nlpool.nl:5766 -dwal <XVG ADDRESS> -dpsw x -dcoin blake2s -allpools 1 -allcoins 1 -dcri 50

Ethereum Dual Mining Smartcash (KECCAK)
There is not a lot to tell about KECCAK, except that few people mine it. KECCAK can be dual mined, though expect major drop in ETH hashrate if you set -dcri above 8.
