Upcoming Filecoin Plus Notary Elections. On Nov 1, the fourth round of Notary Elections will begin. To date, 23 applications have been submitted through Github. Builders Funnel: Developer Grants
- FF approved 176 grants in Q3, with 22 cohort milestone check-ins in September.
Storage Providers
- FF hosted a Data Center Tour to GreaterHeat in Singapore on Sept. 25, and held Open Office Hours and an SP Meetup on Sept. 27.
- The third edition of the SP newsletter was published, covering GenRait, FIL Singapore, and how the indexer works.
- We’re hosting the next SP Day in Lisbon on Nov. 2, alongside Lotus & Friends and Data Onboarding Workshop.
Advocacy and Education
- FF’s Jenks Guo delivered a workshop and a keynote speech at the Australia Crypto Convention.
- Judging for ETH Safari, an Africa-focused hackathon, starts Sept. 15. Judging for the DataDao Fil-Toronto Hackathon is ongoing.
Social Impact
- The public data commons (PDC) website and initiative have launched! PDC is FF’s comprehensive program for onboarding public and government datasets to the Filecoin network. The Foundation is building collaborations with official government groups to onboard high-value datasets.

Governance
- Following a period of extensive deliberation and voting, FIP-0036 has not received majority support across at least 3/5 voting groups and has been rejected. Data tracking is available on Observable. For more information on this FIP, check out the governance documentation.
- FIPs 0044, 0045, and 0047 are all in Last Call.
- Governance presentations are scheduled at ESPA Las Vegas and FIL Singapore, and the Governance Strategy Summit in Montreal will take place next week.
Filecoin Plus
- On Sept. 22, the Filecoin Network officially logged 204 PiB in network deals, more than 98% of which is part of the FIL+ program. To contextualize this number, 1 PiB is equal to more than one trillion pages of plain text type, or more than 239,000 DVDÂ movies.
- The Filecoin Plus team updated Governance Proposal Modification #602. This proposal modifies how Notaries and SPs self-disclose their connections to minimize fraud and increase transparency throughout the process.

- In New York in September, FF’s Marta Belcher participated in a panel discussion at Messari’s annual Mainnet summit on the state of the Filecoin network. She also sat down for a fireside chat at Unfinished Live.
- FIL-Singapore, the largest gathering of the Filecoin community in Asia to date, drew more than 1,600 attendees and 1,000 online viewers (plus more than 3,600 registrations). The event was live-streamed on FF’s YouTube page and on CoinMarketCap.
