Latest news about Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies. Your daily crypto news habit.
The Cachecoin project first began on 5th of January 2014. Its goal was to dissect and correct the bus and errors in the base design of cryptocurrencies’ code. It is a rather ambitious undertaking, as it looks to move base code to pure java as an object oriented program. Cachecoin wants to clean up code and streamline cryptocurrency for the future. They believe that this can help alleviate the problems that many coins are seeing now with scalability, transaction costs, and speed of confirmations.
The project itself seems to be in capable programming hands. Its main developer Kalgecin, is fluent in many object oriented languages such as: Python, SQL, PHP, PERL, RUBY, C++, C, C-SHARP, VISUAL BASIC, OBJECTIVE-C, JAVA and JAVASCRIPT. On top of that, Kalgecin speaks English, Swahili and Russian. Just this week,
Cachecoin believes that Bitcoin and all of its clones inherently run on rather sloppy code. They wish to remedy this. By writing base in Java, it eliminates some of these issues, including any barriers to access such as operating systems on a computer.
Where has the project been?
In the end of 2014 Kelgecin put aside the project because of his schooling: the priority was his studies and completing his Doctorate in Mathematics.
In the year 2015 – His work was continued by another developer (Vertoe) who was unable to finish the work, so the project had temporary success before hiatus.
In May 2017 – A new team came to an agreement with Kalgecin to continue the development of Cachecoin. During the past few years Kalgecin noticed a lot of weak points in BTC algo and most of alts as they are forked from btc or ltc. Most of current coins were copied and did not give any proper refactoring, clean code, or were not object oriented.
Cachecoin decided to work with Kelgecin as he has a stellar track record of reliability and expertise.
Roadmaps and self determination:
The project team is a group of friends and believe in:
If you want to do something right do it yourself!
The lead developer has laid out his roadmap for the project, and it looks a little like this. In the beginning of Week 24 our developer will defense his degree and starts active development of Cachecoin according to the Roadmap:
1.Modification of POW algorithm which makes the mining process more dynamic – Nfactor will be changing according to the hash power of the network (finalizing, testing and publishing)
Time frame: during June 2017 (first tests have planned for the week 24 – 16-18.06)
2 100 % rewriting of old wallet to the new full pure Java wallet with such features as  (during rewritting of old wallet the clean code will be utilized):
2.1. new POS feature
2.2. ANON features
– ANON Payments
– ANON Messenger
2.3. Support for all PC and mobile platforms
The time frame for Alpha version is Q4 of 2017. After a few years of inactivity, the Cachecoin project seems to be full steam ahead. It will be interesting to follow this project and see what innovation they may bring to cryptocurrency and the Blockchain.
