University Of Washington To Host First Ever UW Blockchain Expo
The University of Washington (UW) will host its first-ever UW Blockchain Expo On Oct 13th. The event will be hosted by collegeā Blockchain society.

The UW Blockchain Society connects students and blockchain industry professionals to provide opportunities for education, innovation, and employment. The UW Blockchain Expo will host expert speakers, and offer two tracks of educational workshops by industry professionals with expertise in a variety of disciplines. They will share their experiences, insights, and the projects they are currently working on. Even if you have no prior knowledge of blockchain, there will be plenty of resources on hand to help you get up to speed.
The event is created by students with professional industry mentors, the exposition aims are education and access, not profits. They have designed a day of interactive programming that is a fresh take on the research of the blockchain. It is an opportunity to meet likeminded people, learn new concepts and leave armed with the tools to find your blockchain path.
Speakers include blockchain strategists, CEOs of tech companies, and UW faculty. The event is geared toward education and participation, with topics like āDiversity in Blockchain,ā āReinventing Customer Loyalty,ā and āInvestment.ā The event will feature a number of well-known Seattle blockchain entrepreneurs including Stably CEO Kory Hoang.

The expo will kick off with a āState of the Blockchain Unionā segment and continue from there. There will also be several interactive workshops taught by professionals in the industry on both the technology and business sides of cryptocurrency.
UW Blockchain society President Zach Nelson revealed that the other conferences on blockchain technology in the Seattle area seemed a bit too pricey. He wanted to be able to offer an alternative for those looking to become more involved in blockchain technology, whether thatās through programming or investing in cryptocurrency.
For students the ticket is only $5, however, general admission fees are $99 for the early birds and $149 for normal tickets.
