In total, BitPay now supports settlements in five cryptocurrencies, in addition to the supported local currency. The report stated that:
“In addition to Bitcoin (BTC), BitPay merchants can receive settlements in Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and three stablecoins (GUSD, USDC, and PAX). Now we're happy to share a new improvement: merchants can receive their BitPay settlements in up to five of these cryptocurrencies at once, in addition to their supported local currency.”
Higher Flexibility For BitPay Merchants
The additional of Bitcoin Cash and three stablecoins is without a doubt a good move by BitPay. Not only will this offer its merchants flexibility, but the platform might also enjoy more popularity, signing even more merchants to its platform.
To show how the new features will work, BitPay gave a glimpse of it multi-currency settlement page, which shows all coins added, including the local currency.
Bitcoin Enthusiasts Request The Addition Of Bitcoin SV Too
Although cryptocurrency enthusiasts welcomed the move by BitPay to support three stablecoins and Bitcoin Cash, many still feel that BitPay could have also included the new coins, Bitcoin SV, which was a hard fork of Bitcoin Cash. However, BitPay still remains open to add more coins in the future.
