EOS Alliance’s Co-Founder Brock Pierce Says That Ethereum There Will Be A Problem If Ethereum Fails to Solve Scaling Issue
Speaking with Ran NueNer of CryptoTrader, the co-founder of EOS Alliance and the current chairman of Bitcoin Foundation, Brock Pierce, aired his views about Ethereum, claiming that if it fails to solve the scalability issue, then there will be a problem as other similar blockchains are catching up.
In his words, Pierce said that:
“If Ethereum does not solve the scaling this year then there will be a problem. The market is not going to wait for them to catch up, especially with all the generation 3 blockchains coming up. EOS is currently the number two chain in terms of developers with a lot of runways. It also helps in having the most advanced form of solving scalability issues.”
Need To Solve Custodial Issues
Speaking more about Ethereum, the EOS Alliance co-founder stated that there’s a growing need to solve custodial issues, further noting that, while 2017 was the year of HODL, 2019 will the year of BUIDL. As per his sentiments, it is quite hard to retain investors in a continued bear market.
Pierce also spoke specifically about DApp token, saying that Liquid EOS and Bancor will solve CPU and RAM issues possibly by February. He applauded the importance of communities in the world of cryptocurrencies, noting that ‘community is everything, technology comes later.’
Pierce On The Issue Of Mt.Gox
Brock Pierce also had a chance to speak about the dead Mt.Gox cryptocurrency exchange, which was famous for hacking, saying that:
“The fall of Mt.Gox incurred massive reputation damage and the feeling that it propagated throughout the industry was crazy. People thought that since Mt.Gox got hacked, Bitcoin must be unsafe too. We need to create safer and better practices in the field.”
Closing his discussion, Pierce noted that:
“I rarely make predictions but I have a feeling by the end of this year we will see apps built on the blockchain that will have a million users.”
