Latest news about Bitcoin and all cryptocurrencies. Your daily crypto news habit.
Since its invention, BTC has always stirred up powerful emotions in the masses. Either people hate it, or they love it. The Libertarians are one group that really loves the BTC and what it represents. The anarchists too adore it. However, the environmentalists have no love for it while the politicians do not trust it. The final group is people that really hate it and go out of their way to show it.
The Ones That Love To Hate The BTC
When people dislike something, they immediately try to stay far from it. However, for some, staying clear of the BTC is not an option. They have to keep coming back at it to show their revulsion and fascination in equal measure.
This group will defend this love-hate relationship by claiming they just want to protect the masses from the danger that it poses. However, their inability to leave it alone shows they are harboring a deep fear. These people are afraid that crypto may take over the fiat world, which could render all their achievements redundant.
David Gerard
David Gerard’s distaste for BTC is epic. If he was terminally ill and Satoshi Nakamoto was the only one with a cure, he would reject it on principle. He spends his time trashing crypto at every chance he gets. However, the BTC has a special place in his heart. He blames it for spawning this madness of crypto upon the world. He has written numerous articles on the internet for various magazines criticizing the BTC.
In his opinion, he believes that a concept like Bitcoin will descend from the present software and blockchain tech for decades. After all, he says, it only requires two people to work. However, he is in doubt that it will make a meaningful impact on the world. He also adds that most new tech does not go far.
Nouriel Roubini
Roubini or “Dr. Doom” as those in the crypto community call him is the poster child for BTC hate. However, he does occasionally make correct predictions on the crypto world. It is especially so when it comes to ICO projects that rob people. Roubini has suggested that the future is in central bank issued digital currencies. However, many have accused him of being bitter that he missed the BTC train in 2013.
Paul Krugman
Besides Roubini, Krugman is another economist that has really struggled to grasp the concept of the BTC. Krugman once wrote that by 2005, the world would realize that the only impact the internet had on the world was no more than that of the fax machine. He is opposed to BTC since he feels it has no intrinsic value. He says that it is nothing more than a natural Ponzi scheme.
While constructive criticism is good for BTC, these coins will never be good enough for the Gerards and Roubinis of this world. They plan to go to their graves spewing hate at the crypto they love to hate.
