Cardano builders IOG have announced an upgrade that would increase security and cross-chain capabilities, making it easier for developers to build and deploy decentralised applications (DApps).
The Cardano cryptographic primitives will bring new built-in functions in Plutus, Cardano's smart contract programming language. These will open up a whole new realm of possibilities for multi-signature and threshold signature designs, providing unparalleled security for DApps.
We at IOG have been working closely with key stakeholders in the Cardano ecosystem, including Service Providers (SPOs), DApp developers, and exchanges, to ensure a smooth transition to this upgraded network. The upgrade is planned to take place on February 14th, 2023 with the update to the pre-production test environment targeted for February 11th, 2023.
