Longmont, Colorado, U.S., April 7th 2020 - IOHK, the blockchain research and development company, has today announced the additions of Jerry Fragiskatos and Romain Pellerin as Chief Commercial Office (CCO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), respectively. Fragiskatos was until recently the Commercial Director at Dell Technologies Select and Pellerin was the founder of startups Slyseed and Eminently, as well as the CEO and founder of Ubidreams.
Both join IOHK during a vital growth phase in 2020 for the company. In March IOHK released its Hydra paper to prepare for scalability, and Cardano is preparing for its Shelley mainnet release later this year. Jerry and Romain’s appointments will help solidify IOHK’s credibility as a blockchain engineering giant, and will build upon its reputation for building global cryptocurrencies and blockchains for academic institutions, government entities and corporations.
Based in Dallas, Texas, Fragiskatos will lead IOHK’s commercialization strategy as CCO. Fragiskatos’ aim is for IOHK to become the industry’s first to commodify blockchain technology for mass adoption and grow a successful, self-sustaining business. This will involve working closely with the Cardano Foundation, to build the ecosystem of Cardano to empower millions of people. With experience in over $3-billion worth of successful pursuits, Fragiskatos will also look at extracting value for IOHK’s existing products. His aim will be for people to earn money from Cardano, and he will experiment with the financial services group in the commercial team to demonstrate use cases through digital IDs, product authentication, track and trace, and financial payments.
For Pellerin, filling the role of CTO will be all-encompassing across IOHK projects, implementing new processes, and understanding the pain points of experimenting with new technologies within a disruptive domain. As Cardano prepares for a mainnet network, it will require increased dependencies between teams, laying down the foundations of research and software. Pellerin will be applying his experience in several layers of technology, from cross-platform mobile and internet of things (IoT) applications at Ubidreams to architecting and implementing blockchain-based systems and applications. He will be working closely with the product and technology teams at IOHK and is based in Houston, Texas.
IOHK Chief of Staff, Tamara Haasen said:
“Jerry and Romain join us at a crucial stage for IOHK, as we continue to roll out key products and services. Jerry’s commercialization experience within the IT industry will help IOHK to really refine and create the best possible blockchain products. Romain’s experience of working with disruptive technologies will be invaluable in his role as CTO with responsibility for all of IOHK’s current work strands. Both are extremely capable individuals and we wholeheartedly welcome them into the IOHK fold.”
CCO Jerry Fragiskatos said:
“After decades of experience in software engineering, project management and business development, it only seems logical that my next step is to work in a disruptive industry that can disrupt itself. We are hoping to create whole new economies and the first step in doing so is with a solid commercial strategy. IOHK has the foundations of research, engineering, education and business intelligence, and I am confident that this team will accomplish what we set out to do - to empower the unempowered.”
CTO Romain Pellerin said:
“It is an honor to join IOHK in its mission to disrupt the global marketplace. All of the team aligns strongly with Charles Hoskinson’s passion, and we’re all working to scientifically prove and code trust into the system. I am looking forward to identifying problems, pain points, from the process language to experimenting with the newest developments in disruptive blockchain technology. Ultimately, we want to provide technology that people and businesses will use seamlessly.”
